Screw-In Implant Crown

One of the ways we can replace a missing tooth is with an implant and a screw in crown.  In this case, a single front tooth was missing. An implant was placed, and after healing, we moved on to the restorative phase.  The before photos show an implant impression coping in place.  These are metal screw components that we screw into the implant to relate the implant location to the lab.

The after shots show the crown in place.  As you can see, the shade is a good match.  You will also notice the back side of the tooth has a hole in it.  Through this hole you can see a screw that is used to screw the crown down into the implant.  This screw hole is filled with a filling material after the screw is tightened down.  I took the photo of the crown before the filling was placed so we could demonstrate the way a screw down crown works.

An implant is a wonderful option to replace a missing tooth. If you have a tooth that has failed you, give us a call to see if we can come up with a plan to restore your smile.
