Fluoride is not just for kids any more. With the growing
adult population experiencing a higher incidence of root decay as a result of
the dry mouth from medications, the dental profession has been investigating the
ways to reduce the incidence of decay. Recent studies have found that adult
patients susceptible to decay do benefit from the topical application of
fluoride. Although most insurance companies don't pay for adult fluoride
treatments, the benefits may greatly outweigh the risks of not getting the
